Tobi Walsh is George Mason University’s Assistant Vice President of Capital Strategy and Planning (CS&P). CS&P works with Mason’s leadership, schools, and Units to align long-range capital planning with operational budgets and Mason’s Strategic Plan. This includes development of the 6-Year Capital Plan, Master Plan, capital project planning studies and space management across multiple campuses comprised of approximately 9M square feet.  Before joining Mason in July 2020, Ms. Walsh served as Principal Educational Facility Planner at the University of California, Irvine, where she implemented planning process improvements for the department and managed strategic priority projects for the university.  Ms. Walsh spent the first decade of her career practicing as a licensed Civil Engineer in the fields of geotechnical and environmental engineering. Ms. Walsh is an expert database programmer, who applied technology solutions to streamline and automate data collection and analyses as part of her civil and environmental engineering work. She leveraged this data-driven approach in private practice for nearly two decades consulting in the fields of civil engineering, construction, real estate development, and process improvement. Ms. Walsh holds a Bachelor of Science Civil Engineering and a Master of Science in Construction from Arizona State University.
