Nathan Urban joined Lehigh University in July, 2020, as Provost and Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs. In that capacity he serves as the university’s chief academic officer and also as an implementation leader for Lehigh’s $1Billion fundraising and building campaign to add faculty, students, new buildings and new campus infrastructure to further the school’s status as a major research university. Prior to joining Lehigh, Nathan was Professor and Associate Chair of the Department of Neurobiology and Associate Director of the Center for the Neural Basis of Cognition at the University of Pittsburgh. At Carnegie Mellon University he was Professor of Life Sciences and served as the head of Department of Biological Sciences. He holds a Ph.D. in Neuroscience and did his post-doctoral work at the Max Planck Institute for Medical Research.
