I went to college to be an aerospace engineer, because I wanted to build cool stuff and shoot it into space. Along the way, I decided building things that didn't leave Earth's atmosphere was probably more practical (but could still be really interesting). Over the last 15 years at Stanford University, I've worked on a diverse portfolio of projects, including lab fit-ups, classroom and office buildings, libraries, historic renovations, faculty housing, data centers, renewable energy, and civil infrastructure. My current projects are focused on nano science programs. The Stanford Nano Shared Facilities is a new 15,000 sq-ft suite of labs with high performance tools capable of cutting edge nanoscale material characterization. The Detector Microfabrication Facility is a 5,000 sq-ft ISO 5 cleanroom capable of producing high precision super conducting devices, with applications in quantum computing and the study of the cosmic microwave background. My passion for building high performance, transformational spaces that support the teaching and research mission of the University keeps me motivated.
